Configuring: Copy Fields

Configuring this operation only entails selecting which fields to copy.

Worked example: Copy fields

Steps to configure

  1. Field selection: Select which fields must be copied.

  2. Execute: Fields are copied, and added to the dataset.

Step 1: Field selection

Select the required fields from the list of available fields.

  • Minimum configuration required: at least one field must be selected.

  • If you selected fields that cannot be added to the dataset (because of dataset column limits), the [Finish] button will not be active after the selection. If the [Finish]  button is enabled, then the fields can be created as part of the dataset.

Step 2: Execute

The dataset with a copy of selected fields will be generated. All data values remain the same as no processing is performed on the data values.

  • Default settings: The default field name generation will start by appending a 0 to the field name. If you have a field F and selected it to be copied, it will copy F to a new field called F0. If F0 already exists, then the field F will be copied to F1 etc.
